Subject : NEW ICPI Engagement with South Africa Team

Dear South Africa Team (Country Team and HQ),

Please share with colleagues we may have missed

CCd: Chair, PPM, ECT POC, Agency Leads, PCO, ICPI Leads, ECT Management, PRIME

Thanks to you and the team for your request. Please see below for details of the decision.

Summary of Request

Title: Support Weekly Siyenza Dashboard Population & Develop Transition Plan

Request:

There has been an interagency request for the PEPFAR coordination office (PCO) to work with ICPI to support maintenance and update of the interagency Siyenza monitoring dashboard moving forward. The PCO was asked to identify a solution with ICPI that does not rely exclusively on agency S staff. Given that CDC/USAID do not have staff to support the interagency merge and dashboard update process starting next week, there is an urgent need for ICPI support.

Interim /Short term Support Request and Deliverables:

  1. PCO to identify ICPI staff who can support the dashboard update process, beginning week of June 3 (Yaa Obeng Aduasare is the suggested analyst to support as she has been involved in FF/FB and Siyenza since the start).

Longer term Request/Deliverables

  1. ICPI to support South Africa PCO to automate the dashboard process so it can be more easily done 'in-house'

    1. improve the R merge script so that it does not require update / changes each week and develop an R-shiny (web) app for the merge script.
    2. improve the excel dashboard so it does not require calculations / tables to be modified each week.
  2. Once #2 is completed, PCO will be able to run the files internally each week in a 2-step process:

    1. Execute merge of agency files each week using the shiny app
    2. Use the output dataset to update the dashboard without need to 'intervene' on script or on dashboard.

Deliverables/Outputs

1.Interim weekly dashboard generation by ICPI

  1. Capacity Building of automation of dashboard generation 1.Virtual support
    1. TDY
    2. Reverse TDY
  2. Sustainable solution for dashboard generation (potentially R Shiny App)
  3. Automated and sustainable dashboard generation by country team

Requestor(s):

  1. Dieter Schlodder - PCO South Africa
  2. Sarah Porter - CDC SI Lead
  3. Ambereen Jaffer - USAID SI Lead

Updates to Key Dates

Planning for sustainable solution for dashboard: July 1-12 Dieter is potentially coming to ICPI August 12-23

Frequency of Dashboard

Weekly

jb3436 commented 5 years ago

Updates

  1. We will start work on the sustainable dashboard 8-12 July
  2. There will be a weekly dashboard going forward to allow us to continue our NDoH engagement a. The calls will (maybe) be every other week in line with the TX_CURR pulls
  3. There is a Siyenza site within our general documents folder that I’ve been adding things to. We also have a more permanent and official site that will be updated before use.

TDY to ICPI

September will be a more appropriate time to come, as there will be more people in the office and Dieter will have more learning opportunities during that time.

Is it possible to move the training to September?
