Dear Sir/Madam,

Extending Sri Lanka Railways into a Digital Strategy

As Colombo Suburban Railway project and other important projects are coming in, this would be the right time for us to bring our attention on how significant and influential to build a solid digital strategy for Sri Lanka Railways.

For the past 9+ years, we have been working closely with Sri Lanka Railways (unofficially) and managing Sri Lanka Railway Forum (https://slrailwayforum.com/) for 6+ years, and we are so eager to share our personal experiences/views to build reliable digital solutions to overcome problems faced by Sri Lanka Railways and its commuters on daily basis. We are pleased with coming up with a few suggestions and are as below, Internet user demand for Sri Lanka Railway services has been increased over the past years and its growing. (Our website gets more than 1+ million average organic search impressions per month with current contents) Lack of having properly maintained website to publish latest updates from Sri Lanka Railways (Our network is referred by the official website of Sri Lanka Railways (http://www.railway.gov.lk/), politicians, journalists, industry experts and many other internet users)

Passengers are looking for online services like railway timetable, train delay monitoring, online ticketing and much more online services. (We would like to go through each of these if we get a chance to meet you)

That been said, we have several products crafted internally and I would like to turn them as pilot projects with the help of ICTA and Sri Lanka Railways.

SLRailwayForum is handled by a young team who are interested in Sri Lanka Railways and capable of innovating digital solutions from idealization to finalization. We, in Sri Lanka Railway Forum are always open for new opportunities and contribute towards future projects.

It would be really appreciated if we could arrange a meeting to discuss possible opportunities to work with ICTA and Sri Lanka Railways.

Thank You for your interest and the consideration on us.

Kind regards, Prabath
