New error in mapping dialogue #5381

This is not a serious error, as everything still works. It is the first time I have got this error, and I have not been able to track it down. But the message may give you a sufficient clue.

It is as you try to return to the dialogue. It is all OK once you get past these messages and the dialogue loads. It seems to be the same message repeatedly, and up to 4 or 5 come. Currently about 2.

Error running R command(s) Error in self$get_data_objects(data_name) : not found The error occurred in attempting to run the following R command(s): .temp_value<-data_book$get_column_labels(data_name="", columns=c("GID_0","NAME_0","GID_1","NAME_1","VARNAME_1","NL_NAME_1","TYPE_1","ENGTYPE_1","CC_1","HASC_1","lon","lat","geometry")) OK

My theory is that it seemed to start after I had an initial map with the same dialogue for the 2 data frames. (Those are the variables in the error message above.) That was so I could label the provinces within the map. Then I changed to using Met Stations for the second dialogue. That is when the problem started.

However, I originally did this for Kenya - today is Mozambique - and Kenya seemed without a problem.

I have tried reset and the problem continued the next time.

I may need to investigate more unless this information, and the message is enough.

Seems like for some reason the data is not being passed in to the get_column_labels. Will have a look at this.

@anastasia-mbithe could you check this? Looks like a minor problem we could fix. First, try to replicate it.

@shadrackkibet, Am not sure if the error is from the mapping dialog, since it does not use the get_column_labels function, which clearly doesn't pass the data name. @rdstern am curious of the other dialog that you mentioned as "the second dialog" I can investigate it too alongside the mapping dialog.

As you are looking at this, I feel the mapping system is flaky, so it would be good to look and to try different examples. I tried using it with Ghana data and found a small series of problems. I will try to reproduce them over the weekend to be able to share and discuss. And I also found the serious problem that is with Version 0.7.4 and causes a real crash. This is the same as was reported earlier and has been introduced recently - it is ok with version 7.3.1.

I hope that can be fixed first. It came here when I tried to use facets with points.
