Graphs to compare station and satellite data #5888

In comparing station data with satellite (or reanalysis) data there are now many numerical methods of comparison. It is very important to also have a variety of graphical ways to complement the numerical summaries.

We have already added the Taylor diagram. This should be used and interpreted. The Verification package and the hydroGOF package also include a variety of graphs. What are they and how useful are they.

At this stage our default is also initially to see what useful graphs can be constructed with R-Instat's standard graphs. Perhaps some improvements can be suggested.

I suggest that later we may want to add some special dialogues in the climatic menu. But this may not be needed and I would first like to know what is currently available. An important aspect is likely to include an assesment of the extent to which the satellite data correctly reproduces the seasonal aspect. Hence I anticipate that some presentations will have months or day-of-year as the x-variable.

@rdstern is it correct to say that most of these aspects have been investigated and added? I think this issue can be closed. If there is a specific point not addressed then that should be separate issue.
