Each of these sketches explore collaborative poem making between human and computer.

  1. If I Were a Disappearing Poem https://thimbleprojects.org/marijkejorritsma/63947/ In this first sketch the user clicks to generate a series of words which they will not see unless they've laid a background for the words to be revealed on. The act of making the poem with the computer is an ongoing act of layering, clicking, obscuring, and editing the words that the computer gives the human.
  2. If I Were a Moving Poem https://thimbleprojects.org/marijkejorritsma/63920/ If I Were a Moving Poem is a temporary poem making act between human and computer in which the human tries to catch words thrown out by the computer by moving their cursor rapidly over the words. No poem is ever recorded but is constantly updated on the page and in the human's mind.
  3. If I Were a Never Ending Poem https://thimbleprojects.org/marijkejorritsma/63927/ In this poem, the user catches words by moving their cursor over randomly generated words. As the user participates in catching the words they are directed to making a composition.

Nice work! Really digging the different aesthetic riffs on the poems. Please make sure all 3 sketches have createCanvas(windowWidth, windowHeight); so that they play full frame.

I love your work, so beautiful. The never ending poem is my favorite!

I really liked all three and especially the colors you used in the first two

kaschakm commented 8 years ago

All very nice looking and great ways to get the viewer to interact!

For the words that you don't want to write over each other, try putting a rectangle behind it with the same background color (may need to also utilize noLoop).

Looks really good! I love the colors!

This is beautiful!!! I love the spray paint effect. Maybe slow down the word generation to really appreciate the artwork

I really liked these sketches. Two of them reminded me of the Spraypaint draw option on the software program Paint!
