I've got the same issue too, is it possibly something left in the registry?

Yeah, that's right. Try searching C:\Windows\System32\drivers and delete it.

I have the same problem with Windows 7 64. I installed the Dokan 6.0 64b from a
custom distributive that I downloaded here http://gosu-wot.com/xvm303/
(http://gosu-wot.com/go/https://dl.dropbox.com/u/91734653/doken_driver_060_xp64.
zip). The description says that it is for Win 64. But in fact it is for Win XP
64. So the driver from the zip can be installed by running the install.bat
file. It just copies several files to the windows system folders and run
dokanctl twice with different options. Then I realized that it is wrong driver
for my Windows and tried to install correct version of the driver from official
distributive. But the installation program asked me to uninstall the previous
version. I ran the dokanctl with /r a options and removed all copied dokan
driver files from system folders. But the installation program still ask me to
remove the previous version!

I've found the cause of my problem in Windows 7 64bit. The thing is that I used
Total Commander tool to browse files and folders, and even if I pushed it to
show hidden and system files, it didn't see them. I opened the System32\drivers
folder in the Windows Explorer and found the dokan.sys file by typing the file
name. The file was still there! After deletion from the command line!
