Sorry for the confusion here, but I think the values in the report are incorrect. They seem to be from an alternative mooring design we considered at one point. The values in the repository and OpenFAST model are the "correct" ones.
I should note that the mooring system was only designed to maintain a 25 m offset limit. The breaking load, chain size availability, and fatigue were not considered during the design. From my notes with our mooring team, we expect that alternative configurations (besides catenary) and other materials (than chains) will be used at this scale.
I am investigating the platform motion of IEA 22 MW floating wind turbine through OpenFAST. In the IEA-22-280-RWT-Semi/IEA-22-280-RWT-Semi_MoorDyn.dat, the chain diameter, EA, and linear density were 225 mm, 4.3234e+09, and 1007 kg/m, respectively.
However, in the pdf "Definition of the IEA Wind 22-Megawatt Offshore Reference Wind Turbine" (DOI: 10.11581/DTU.00000317), the chain diameter, EA, and linear density were 400 mm, 1.367E+10 N, and 3184 kg/m, respectively.
The properties of mooring line in pdf and openfast seems different. which is correct?
