Additional parameters for LAG configuration #98

Closed italobusi closed 12 months ago

italobusi commented 1 year ago

When a LAG group is configured by the MDSC, some additional LAG-specific parameters can be configured. For example, the minimum number of LAG members that should be active to consider the LAG group active.

This is a gap to be addressed in the Ethernet TE topology model under definition in CCAMP: need to add some text to the document to describe this gap.

Really LAG required? We need to clarify better, need more discussion on this.

LAG is used, as an alternative approach to ECMP, to support IP links with higher bandwidth (e.g., Nx100G links)

There is a need to configure the minimum number of links that should be up in order to consider the LAG group as up. For example, a LAG group of three links can be considered up even if only one link fails and down when two link fail.

Configuration of this attribute should be optional. If the LAG is used only for bandwidth increase, the LAG group can be considered down as soon as one link fails.

It has been agreed to describe this requirement in the draft highlighting this as a gap in the current Ethernet topology model.
