Have the same issue, In my experience, it happens in Starsector during large battles or in areas of little hardware usage (like menus, etc). What I have been able to gather (not much):

event viewer:

Application java.exe has been blocked from accessing Graphics hardware.

I speak for many using intel 10th gen igpu to play Starsector, many there have been having the same issues. There is more info about the problem here: https://fractalsoftworks.com/forum/index.php?topic=19590.0 https://fractalsoftworks.com/forum/index.php?topic=18624.15

Similar issues: https://fractalsoftworks.com/forum/index.php?topic=24210.0 --> The dev of the game Alex notes it seems to be a crash in the graphics driver.

edit: I used to think this had something to do with power throttling until I ran MSI Afterburner OSD only to see there were many times where no throttling had occurred and the problem still occurs. ATP IMO it is almost certainly a driver problem.

I've tried so much in attempting to fix this error, nothing has worked, unless there's a workaround---hoping the next driver update fixes all this.

Seems to be fixed now that ive updated the game for testament. Does have weird issue now with magpie though. I dunno if it should be closed or not. I'll let ya'll decide.

The symptoms of this problem seem pretty widespread across multiple games, this could mean a common thread of weird graphics driver interactions with the games could be the problem, and either the game dev figures out how to workaround buggy drivers or the driver gets fixed.

Hi @shinra358, We tested this issue and we are unable to reproduce it. There is a new graphics driver version 30.0.101.1960. can you please re-test the issue with the latest graphics driver and let us know the results. If you are still observing the issue with this latest driver, our advice would be for you to contact your device manufacturer support since the issue seems to be specific to your device.

shinra confirmed the issue is no longer present, i missed new replies here, so this can closed

magpie issues should be reported to magpie devs, and if they find a bug in intel drivers, they can open an issue here.

hi @T-oasterO-ven , sorry for the late reply, can you please open a new issue for that
