Description and steps to reproduce [Required]

Navigating through all Arc Control and Intel Command Center sections, I am simply unable to tell the status of VRR when using Display Port.

I have no idea whether the following options are what I was supposed to see and "Smooth Sync" is related to VRR or not. (When using "Application Choice" and Vsync = OFF in Overwatch 2, it was a tearing nightmare. With "Smooth Sync", it is apparently OK, but I don't know if this is due to VRR or a software technique.)

hi @dcominottim, Thanks for contacting Intel, we will start to verify the issue once the system is ready. Stay tuned!

hi @dcominottim, sorry for the late reply because we have a high volume of issues at this moment. There is good info here that you can understand more about Smooth Sync that reduces screen tearing for ARC and here also https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ENCV4xUjj0&t=762s As you can see from the Arc Control also give some info on each of the options here image

Hello there.

Thanks for the reply -- however, it does not address the real issue: there's absolutely no way to know whether VRR is enabled or not by looking at either Command Center or Arc Control.

Hi @dcominottim

Currently, we have a toggle for Adaptative Sync in IGCC. You can find it by going to Preferences -> Global Setting (as shown in the image below). Please do note that for this feature to be available, you need to use a DP-to-DP cable from the Arc card to your VESA Adaptative Sync enabled display. If even then you still can't see the "Global Settings" menu, please follow the instructions on this article to enable it: How to Enable Global Settings in the Intel® Graphics Command Center

ArcVRR

Also, we are working on merging this Adaptative Sync toggle from IGCC into Arc Control soon.

EstebanIntel commented 1 year ago

@dcominottim & @IGCIT can this be closed?

dcominottim commented 1 year ago

Hi, @EstebanIntel!

I believe the "Global Settings" tab from IGCC wasn't being shown in my system after I installed Arc Control -- however, I may have missed it.

I have temporarily taken my Arc 750 out of my rig and cannot test it right now; but if there's already work on merging the toggle into Arc Control, yeah, this can be closed. Thanks a lot once again!

@IGCIT can you please close this issue?
