@NotAMemeber ty for your report! Question: have you tested with latest version v.4826? Also, (in case you still see performance drop with latest version) I'm unable to verify performance as we don't have a Citrix account, is there a way someone could create a test account to verify UX?

Tried v.4826. Lagging again. Looks like i will sit on 4676 for a while.

I can also confirm 4824/4826 causes lags in Citrix. I reverted to WHQL 4672 and that works fine.

opteronm commented 12 months ago

Is your Citrix workspace up to date? I'm using the latest drivers and latest version of Citrix with zero issues. I've tested both the Workspace and internet browser version.

One thing I did notice and it wasn't just isolated to ARC GPU. But I noticed I would get the best Citrix performance when I would log in with the edge browser. Again this isn't just ARC related as it would also happen with Nvidia and AMD.

I'm using last version. Tried 4826 again, still lagging.

cwestwater commented 11 months ago

Having the same issue. Downgrading to .4672 fixed the Citrix performance issues. This is only affecting the Workspace client. Using the HTML5 browser version didn't have any issues

Please fix this!

Karen-Intel commented 11 months ago

Hi everyone. Please open a ticket in your respective IT Companies (Citrix server provider) in order to help us pursue this issue. We're end user support (remember to always use DDU before reporting the issue) but as this application requires controlled server access, the corresponding IT department should give access directly so Intel has an accurate number of impacted users, as well as providing a test environment controlled by your own company to avoid having any information risk.

@IGCIT can you close this one? This application requires controlled access to its servers and it falls out of our scope. An IT ticket from the user's company is required and we're unable to confirm the regression as we don't have access to the servers to verify performance.

Karen

cwestwater commented 11 months ago

Sorry but how is this a Citrix issue? Up until driver version .4672 performance was fine. Drivers after that with no changes to Citrix result in poor performance, therefore something changed in the driver to cause the issue.

opteronm commented 11 months ago

I've had zero issues with all drivers. Using latest version of Citrix. Both online and application versions of Citrix.

Hey @NotAMemeber can you help us by gathering a GPU view Trace of the passing and failing driver? We also need to know the DX version the Citrix Client is based on

Thank you!

Karen

NotAMemeber commented 10 months ago

@Karen-Intel I got traces. Where to upload? App uses DX11. Traces from 4672 and 4953. image

Karen-Intel commented 10 months ago

Ty @NotAMemeber, please upload them to Google Drive or any other service where we could download them.

Karen-Intel commented 10 months ago

Thank you @NotAMemeber. Allow us to analyze them and will post our findings soon :)

Karen

NotAMemeber commented 10 months ago

I hope i did tracing right. There were problems with gpuviewer from the start.

Karen-Intel commented 10 months ago

No worries, I'll check if we can track the signature. If the ETLs don't work, I'll ask you for more :)

Karen

BiZkViT96 commented 10 months ago

@IGCIT You closed the issue too soon.

soaringthor commented 9 months ago

Glad to see this got reopened! I don't think that I can get you access to my company's Citrix without jumping through a lot of hoops, but if that really is necessary then I can try tracking that down if you're willing to jump through some hoops too. Also happy to provide a GPU Trace or any other troubleshooting information if you need any additional end user examples. Thanks!

Karen-Intel commented 9 months ago

Hey @soaringthor yes please! Can you share ETLs with v.4972? To add the info to my report. Up in the comments you'll see the link to get the Gpu trace + your system specs please :)

Karen

soaringthor commented 9 months ago

Hi Karen, here's my ETL on v.4972 and my igcit_ssu.txt. Let me know if you want an ETL from v.5074, which I haven't gotten a chance to test with yet.

Here the oldest version is 4887. I work on 4672.

cwestwater commented 9 months ago

Yeah 4672 is the last working version for me with Citrix but it's aged out of the drop down. Is there an archive site we can find it on?

BiZkViT96 commented 9 months ago

@NotAMemeber @cwestwater https://www.techpowerup.com/download/intel-graphics-drivers/

Look in Version History.

IGCIT commented 9 months ago

oh, i see yes, intel site 4672 driver link is discontinued

thanks @BiZkViT96 , added to wiki

NotAMemeber commented 9 months ago

The more time passes, the greater the gap between the drivers. I hope for prompt feedback on the problem.

Karen-Intel commented 9 months ago

Hey guys, just sharing our internal report number, our dev team is already aware of this issue. As soon as I have any update, I'll let you know and appreciating your patience in advance! Internal report number: 14021233760

ALSO! @NotAMemeber and @soaringthor could you share your setup? HDMI or DP and display specs? And we'd appreciate if you could also disable MSI afterburner and check if you see any performance difference. If not, please confirm and send me again the ETLs for both failing and passing driver with MSI afterburner disabled. Our team is asking for this info to add to our report. TY

Karen

soaringthor commented 8 months ago

I'm sorry Karen, I didn't see a request for information since Github chose not to email me when tagged in an edit.

Reported by Settings | System | Display | Advanced display:

In addition, my NUC 12 Enthusiast does not have MSI Afterburner installed nor do I overclock using any other method.

I did want to share more details about the behavior I'm seeing to add to the report. My primary use for Citrix Workspace is to connect to a virtual desktop (VDI). On newer versions of the driver, the VDI experience feels a lot like network lag. Mouse clicks, switching between programs, scrolling through Excel, or clicking on an email just take an extra few seconds to register. However, I captured a screen recording on the VDI and my NUC at the same time and found that the VDI was speedy as ever, and the lag is actually a visual lag only experienced on the NUC. This visual lag is mildly observable up until 1080p, after which it gets noticeably worse in 1440p and unusably frustrating in fullscreen 3840x1200 (which is how I usually work). As reported by @NotAMemeber , this lag is completely gone when downgrading to 4672/4676.

I'll also include that I am using Citrix Workspace app 22.03.5000 for Windows, LTSR 2203.1 Cumulative Update 5 as my employer prefers the LTS release.

Thank you!

Karen-Intel commented 8 months ago

Hey @soaringthor Ty for the details. I already shared your last post with the dev team. In case they need anything else, I'll let you know

Karen

NotAMemeber commented 8 months ago

Reported by Settings | System | Display | Advanced display:

Monitor 1: HDMI (don't know how to check version, cable is half old as me) Redmi 215 NF running at 1920x1080, 60 Hz Monitor 2: DEXP DisplayPort - DVI-D PLE2208HDD running at 1920x1080, 60 hz

Sorry for late responce, I'm kinda dying at work. I used Afterburner to check the DirectX version in one of the recordings and don't know if there was any difference in performance. As mentioned above, lags resemble network problems.

Hi guys! We're still working on this case Requirement from the dev team: Can someone share the ETLs of driver 4824 please? @soaringthor @NotAMemeber Ty in advance!

Karen

soaringthor commented 7 months ago

Hi Karen, here's an ETL from 4824, sorry for the delay!

UnderNotic commented 7 months ago

Hey! I have same issue with citrix (huge drop of performance) but I've Intel 155h cpu with intel Arc iGPU with 8 cores (ID 7D55). Unfortunately I can not go back to 4676 as it is not compatible with mine platform.

@Karen-Intel Not sure if I should create a new issue for that as this one is very related?

Karen-Intel commented 7 months ago

Hi @UnderNotic, there's no need to open a new issue atm Once we get a fix in a public release for this issue we can verify if it solves what you're experiencing (which might be related) as it is also related to Intel ARC Keep you posted!

Karen

cwestwater commented 7 months ago

@Karen-Intel I too am suffering the issue. If it would help I can gather GPU View traces so you have more data

Karen-Intel commented 7 months ago

Ty @cwestwater I will notify you next time I get a new requirement from the dev team :)

Karen

floschwend commented 6 months ago

Just wanted to mention that I'm probably (?) suffering from the same issue.

Intel Core Ultra 7 155H ASUS Zenbook 14 UX3405MA (32GB RAM) Citrix Workspace 23.9.0.99(2309) as my employer needs a specific (old) version

The UI brutally lags, almost unusable in some scenarios. Some of the worst bits are resizing a window inside the citrix session or dragging/dropping a textbox in PowerPoint. This can take several seconds and lags so badly that it's almost impossible to do it.

I excluded all other causes I was able to find (i.e. use ethernet instead of wifi, exclude citrix process from anti virus etc.).

Let me know if anything is needed from my side (trace, logs, ...).

Karen-Intel commented 6 months ago

Ty for your feedback. It is still a WIP on our end, if there are updates I will let you know

Karen

floschwend commented 6 months ago

For everyone affected, this workaround fixed the problem for me: Disable hardware acceleration in Citrix Workspace.

Found it here: https://hardforum.com/threads/intel-arc-gpu-driver-issue-citrix-workspace.2033744/ More information about group policies for Citrix: https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/citrix-workspace-app-for-windows/group-policy.html

Let me know if anyone needs more information (e.g. step by step guide).

I guess once the driver issue is fixed, we can turn it back on. But for now this is completely fine.

The fix you provided definitely works for me. I was able to get assistance from another person in Reddit. https://www.reddit.com/r/IntelArc/comments/1b6cuuq/comment/kupwn9m/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3

However, for those that aren't able to access the files for whatever reason. This fix helps, but it isn't as effective as the link above. If possible, do that fix as instructed in the last post.

I did come across a workaround that somewhat helped with the latency/stutter issue.

What I tried is setting the 'Graphics Settings' in Windows (this is when you right click on the desktop and go to Display Settings. I found 6 files in the Citrix folder and set them all to 'High Performance'. It reduced the issue and it appears to be more responsive. These files are usually active when you use Citrix. Not sure if this will work for anyone, but definitely give it a try.

Here is a picture of the files: Graphics Settings - High Performance

Felipe-Intel commented 6 months ago

Hello all, I was looking at the previous comment.

For those of you who DON'T have a Core Ultra Series 1 processor, and have an integrated GPU, can you try the following:

  1. clean install the latest driver (101.5333)
  2. Force integrated graphics usage only, by either

We would like to confirm if this issue only happens with Arc Graphics (this is why Core Ultra is out of the equation) while we set up a test environment internally or find a contact within Citrix that can help us (if you have one, it is more than welcome).

Karen-Intel commented 4 months ago

Hi all, we have created the following article about this issue: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000097751/graphics.html

Please check any updates for this case on it, we will be adding updates to it so, we will be closing this thread for the time being. @Arturo-Intel can you help close this one please? No updates since March 13th after Felipe's last inquiry, any future updates on our end will be done through the article

Hi guys! CC @UnderNotic @soaringthor @NotAMemeber

We're updating our article regarding Citrix., in the meantime... The fix for this issue has been included already in driver version 5594, FYI

Could someone help verify please?

floschwend commented 2 months ago

Hi @Karen-Intel

Just upgraded to 31.0.101.5594 and using:

I re-enabled HW-acceleration and so far it works perfectly well. The lag is gone and the performance is great.

If I notice any stability issue throughout the next days I'll add another comment here.

Let me know if you need more (specific) information. Thanks a lot for fixing this!
