Hey @papandbuddyg , I've played a bit with the same config as yours and haven't seen any performance issues (see pictures below). Have you tried clean reinstallation of GFX driver using DDU tool?

@papandbuddyg Also, is Resizable BAR (Smart Access Memory) enabled on your motherboard? You can check it in GPU-Z tool.

papandbuddyg commented 1 month ago

image yes rebar is on i could try reinstalling using ddu in a bit @Ilya-intel

papandbuddyg commented 1 month ago

ya i tried ddu and my fps is still rough @Ilya-intel image image image image

@papandbuddyg Okay I see.

On your screenshots I see that CPU is being highly utilized, while GPU is not, which is not OK. So, I have a few clarifying questions:

  1. Do you see this behavior from the very beginning?
  2. What PSU do you use and are both power connectors attached to the GPU?
  3. Have you tried resetting BIOS settings?
  4. Can you try using other RAM modules (or try with one module at least)?

This might be caused by some unsupported features by this particular motherboard model since AMD 400 Series boards are not supported.

papandbuddyg commented 1 month ago
  1. i havent i actually been playing a few demanding games with my arc such as ff7 remake and rdr2 and ive been playing ffxiv everyday on it and it runs perfectly fine the only real issue i notice is fps tends to be unstable on most games lol
  2. i use a Apevia ATX-PR600W Prestige 600W 80+ Gold and both power connectors are connected to the gpu
  3. i actually try to update my bios regularly
  4. this sadly wont cant happen as if i take out a ram stick its going to run even worse with 8gb of ram lol i do want to add that i have a motherboard that supports 5000 series cpu and if i was to take out my arc and put in my rx580 my fps would be fine @Ilya-intel
papandbuddyg commented 1 month ago

image heres a picture of rdr2 with max settings because i wanted to see how far the gpu can go xd

Ilya-intel commented 1 month ago

@papandbuddyg Interestingly, GPU is not fully utilized again. Could you check which power mode is set in the Windows settings? It is worth trying switching from Balanced to Best Performance and vice versa.

papandbuddyg commented 1 month ago

image this is current and i just changed it to balanced i get this performance booting up rdr2 and battlefield 2042 negated its a loading screen but still is very uh rough on utlization image image

@Ilya-intel

Ilya-intel commented 1 month ago

@papandbuddyg I still can't reproduce such behavior on several systems, which makes me think this is an OS issue. Could you check Windows system files integrity and maybe even try reinstalling OS?

papandbuddyg commented 1 month ago

@Ilya-intel im not reinstalling the os for a single game tbh image it also did not find anything wrong i dual boot but i cant try on linux because this game doesnt support linux xd its odd tbh since i dual boot

Ilya-intel commented 1 month ago

Hey @papandbuddyg , There is a newer driver available, please try to clean install it: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/785597/intel-arc-iris-xe-graphics-windows.html If it won't help, please upload DxDiag report (you can simply type dxdiag in start menu and then press the "Save All Information" button).
