Description and steps to reproduce [Required]

Every few games the shadows can glitch and become pitch black. Directly lit areas are still normal but everything that is indirectly lit becomes pitch black. The next round is fine again (no restart of the game required, just have to play a new match).

It seems like it is a problem with a buffer of the global illumination because it doesnt go dark immediately but gradually (darkens over the duration of about a second). In the dark sight the problem doesnt occur, there everything is rendered correctly. The screenshots were taken in the same round so you can see the broken shadows in normal sight and the normal dark vision.

I will try and also get a video of the shadows breaking.

After some testing: If i turn of AMD`s FSR or turn it on, it gets reset.

But it happens even when FSR is turned off. Still trying to catch it on video

Hey there! I checked this out on a similar system and noticed the same issue with shadows. I'll test out a few more things and get back to you on if a bug id # if I find this one ends up requiring one.

Sorry for the delay. I can't seem to be able to reproduce again after the first time. :/ Working on getting the issue to appear again. Let me know if you have any tips.

Unfortunately I don’t have steps to force the issue. I sometimes play days without it and then it happens 3-4 times within an hour only to vanish again.

May be of interest: in the Digital Foundry Interview with the Crytek devs they talked about how they use some kind of buffer for the indirect illumination and the shadows. Would fit with my finding that changing settings forces a fresh buffer. So I guess it gets corrupted. Video for reference: https://youtu.be/QLQ0-N6knyU?si=TRCwnl_KqL-I9KDR they talk about that at roughly 15:30 mins.

I did some digging and it turns out that this same issue was reported internally as well (bug id 18039964303). So no need to get another successful replication for now. :)

I can't promise an ETA but the issue is getting worked on. I'll post something here once I see an update on the issue.

This is not a necessarily a Arc specific issue but more of a game issue. Many people with AMD hardware are experiencing the same and some with Nvidia cards also. If you look at r/HuntShowdown subreddit you’ll see many others with similar issues, maybe there are ways to fix it with drivers but I think best we can do is wait for Crytek to fix it.
