I do not have that info try find it on http://trac.kismac-ng.org/wiki
That web page won't load. Site down? Anyway just wondering what are the current USB GPS drivers (for Yosemite) I should install to allow KisMac access to a GPS puck?
I work on macbook pro, and it uses default driver
How should I set the GPS preferences of KisMac for the US GlobalSAT BU-353 USB GPS device? Do I use CoreLocation or GPSd? The dialog says I will need to install a driver for emulation. What GPS are you using, that you say it uses default driver?
OK, I have my GPS preferences set as shown above. I have connected this GPS device:
http://usglobalsat.com/s-122-bu-353-support.aspx
Kismac shows "CoreLocation initialized." on the map screen, but the location is shown with a red circle near the North pole.
I install the 10.6 driver from the support page, which is said to be working in Yosemite at http://usglobalsat.com/forum/index.php?topic=4751.0 (Even though the title refers to the newer BU-353 variant, the link is to the driver for mine).
I run the US Global SAT GPSUtility app that is included with that driver, and it shows my coordinates. In that app, I set port to /dev/cu.usbserial and rate to 4800.
Then I turn back to KisMac and it still shows the same thing, only CoreLocation Initialized.
What do I need to do to get KisMac to use the GPS? I must be missing a step.
sorry, I don't know(( try debug it
I will try debugger and report back later, but can you tell me what GPS product you have working with KisMac? I understand you did not install a driver.

I picked up your latest code from GIT and I now got it to show location. How do I confirm that it is using the USB GPS and not Apple's triangulation of wifi locations? I had to be online to get it to work. Seems like the computer needed to contact Apple servers for CoreLocation functionality to work.
You never said exactly What GPS product are you actually using?

I donot have any gps devices, I tried connect iPad like GPS, but do not have result
I think I got this working and did a short drive with a scan after the app showed my location. However I could not zoom enough on the map to separate the networks.
The buttons on the map seem to disappear after I click on them.
Also it seems after a cold start of the computer the app will not pick up my location until after I turn on Airport (which I might not do if I am going to use a more sensitive USB adapter).
Because I cannot zoom enough on the built in map or export kml (see separate issue), I cannot be certain thar the coordibstes of the networks are accurate enough to confirm the BU353 GPS was really used as opposed to estimated location.
It seems to me the map in older KisMac versions allowed more zoom.
Now that issue 58 has been fixed, I see that all the networks from my wardrive were attributed to the starting location of the war drive. No wonder I thought I couldn't zoom in enough - that was not the issue - all the networks were put in one place. What am I doing wrong, or is there a bug?
I think the BU 353 was not really used by location services while I was moving. How do I get the Mac's Location services to use it?
Please add some user documentation or notes somewhere on setting up the mapping in Yosemite - what else does a user need to install and from where to use USB GPS devices known to work with KisMac such as BU-353.
Also, you might want to start a user forum for users to discuss the usage of the app.
Thanks
