Is the Final-Text profile - Emergency Department Referral (EDR) applicable to the EMS front door? https://wiki.ihe.net/index.php/Emergency_Department_Referral_Profile

I did not see this in the EMS.md

Hello John,

I remember looking through this profile before developing the PCS, it was determined that it was only applicable for the Physicians offices and ambulatory settings, and not EMS. EMS data has much more information to convey especially for vital signs and encounter information to the ED. Additionally, this profile is considered to be a referral, and would be used to send information ahead of the patient, but it doesn’t follow their ambulance journey.

If it were to be applied to EMS, there would have to be an option to send a copy of the referral to the EMS organization that would respond and do the transfer, and then it would be developed into the PCS. Alost similar to how the RIPT profile would function. It is worth investigating and even updating, but currently does not apply to the EMS.md

Sincerely,
