The same issue is in medication overview as well (see here). The same Dosaging model/profile will be used by both IGs and in all the appropriate FHIR profiles. Let's discuss next meeting in the context of prescription and dispense.

Input from Norway (as response to Xt-EHR meeting): Dosing In connection with the Medication list project in Norway, there have been some attemps on using FHIR to represent dosage in the prescription and medication list. There are a lot of extentions in these profiles, and it also includes a propriatary system for dosage used in Norway (kortdose):

R4 Medication | sfm-MedicationStatement - SIMPLIFIER.NET And the "ereseptdosing" in this extension: R4 Medication | sfm-reseptamendment - SIMPLIFIER.NET

I'm not sure how detailed the European formats should be when it comes to dosage. Nevertheless, I think this illustrates that we need guidence on how to express simple and more complex dosages in fhir (and guidance on which elements should be captured by using other resources/profiles). Our overall goal is to have an easier transfer of dosage information between GPs, pharmacies, hospitals, multidose pharmacies, secondary use of data etc
