Donkey Kong 64 - Banana Fairy unphotographable #267

Tested with: Project64 1.6 and 1.7

In DK64 there is a sidequest to photograph 20 banana fairies found all over the
game.

In the level Gloomy Galleon, there is an underwater shipwreck that can be
entered by Tiny, and a banana fairy is closed behind bars in a prison
cell-style sealed room with no possibility of entering.

Normally you are able to photograph the fairy through the spacing between the
bars(the bars themselves are one big flat texture with transparency between
them where the spaces occur).

With Glide64, while it is possible to clearly see the fairy through the gaps,
there is no detection of a 'clear view'. The photo camera has a "smiley" that
stays red when the fairy is not in proper view, and turns green when the cam is
centered on the fairy. That face never turns green with Glide64 and any
attempts to take the photo fail.

As the room is designed to not be entered, there is no way to take the photo.

It should be noted that a similar setup is present in Hideout Helm, where
fairies can be photographed from behind a glass window. Yet there are no issues
there(the room can also be entered normally).

Does it work with other video plugins? Can you send me a savestate from this
place?

Use jabo's 3d6 graphics plugin instead of glide64 napalm. After that you can
switch back, since glide64 seems to be more stable with donkey kong than jabo's
is. Hope this helps!

I don't have time to play the game. I need a savestate which will bring me
right to the problem point.

Can confirm that switching to jabo's plugin made it very easy (the camera would
very often become green whereas with glide64 it was always red no matter what
angle you used and therefore unobtainable).
