Despite begin deprecated for over a year, we still have code depending on old connect functions. Here's my counts:

grep -r "basicPut" | wc -l # returns 51 (!)
grep -r "basicPost" | wc -l # returns 31
All of these functions have replacements (.delete(), .post(), .put()), and require minimal migration to remove. For code clarity's sake, it would be nice to have them removed for good.
