This is a good suggestion. We had thought of it in the past, but it's not trivial to match the lip movement to the silhouette, especially since the model is not anatomically accurate. Another problem is the use of the screen's real state.
... But we must certainly consider it. Even if as a separate visual reference on the side.
NOTE: We're not the original authors of the software (who are linked in the README), but we maintain our own fork for use in museum exhibitions and could maybe tackle this request. You're free to also make this request to the original author.
With the current display, it's hard for people to get oriented. (This is not only my experience, but that of various educators I've shown the demo to.) This problem could be solved by drawing a head outline so people can easily see that the head is facing to the right (most head cross-sections face left) and can tell where the nose and lips lie relative to the vocal tract diagram.
