D4 codebooks #2

dear @JoanKMorris @mariebeslay @ChristineDamase,

i have slightly refined the D3 codebooks and started to work on the D4 codebooks. for me the most important aspect is to make sure that i am catching the methodology for period prevalence correctly.

the pertinent D4 is D4_prevalence_period_MS. in the tab 'Example' of that spreadsheet i included an example that i would like to discuss with you

this is the text of the example

"P000001 starts her observation period towards the end of 2008, she immediately enters the study, and she exits the study mid 2016. When she enters the study she is in the ageband 20-24. She turns 25 in 2013, so she contributes 2 records on that year, except for the ageband 'all' . She turns positive for MS1 (the first algorithm for MS) during 2011. She does contribute to the 5-year period 2005-2009, although she is only briefly observed there. Even in the 5-year band she contributes two records in 2010-2014, one per the age band 20-24 and one for 25-29. In the ageband 'all' she only contributes one record in in 2010-2014."

is this correct?

i am also pinging @DavideMessinaARS @OlgaPaoletti @EmaUtrecht since this is pertinent to the development of the specifications of CountPrevalence

Hi Gina Yes I agree with the example – for me that is why looking at person years makes more sense when examining prevalence Joan
