I had unintentionally pushed commits to the master Makefile. This should remove them.

@turbomam I think it is okay ... I'd have to try running all the make commands to verify. You can also put the basex make targets in a different Makefile and run it with make -f <filename> <target> if you want to separate out your work until you are ready to move to the main Makefile.
