@brainstorm - i'm creating a single feature request issue.
Great idea Satra, that way we don't "pollute" the issue tracker. I'll merge mine in here...
@satra what exactly do you mean by weighted metrics?
there are different ways one can estimate trust in the world and up and down votes is just one way to tackle this. i think it would be good to support alternate forms of trust modeling within the framework and eventually people might choose the one that serves their needs. trust can be about a user or about the comment/question and can be evaluated through a combination of user metrics. what the optimization algorithm is will depend on the need for the metric. @flinz - could you add your requested enhancements to this issue? - we are trying to keep it all in one place.
Hey @satra, I think we should differentiate what goes into GSoC and those issues that are purely functional, like the ones @flinz just reported.
A GSoC should have enough substance to be considered as a good summer project, not just a collection of relatively small and unrelated bug fixes.
I will share a small writeup of the GSoC proposal with you relatively soon ;)
@brainstorm - i think that's fine. although here i was trying to collect feature requests - some of which would make their way to a gsoc.
hi there, it would really be great to easily pull in reference ala wikipedia with a couple of formatting options (number, first author + year, full reference), e.g. by using pubmed IDs or DOIs.
having ORCID integration would be great first step to a functioning reputation system
This issue was excellent as a "seed" for GSoC2014 (and it worked!). Now separate issues have been opened for the different checkboxes above, therefore, I'm closing it. Feel free to open additional independent issues if I missed any.
