Describe the goal of the project.
The goal of this project is to build a Shiny app to visualize and analyze the flight crashes occurred in the United States form 1980 to 2022.
Describe the data used or collected.
The data-set was obtained from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), which covers aircraft crashes in the U.S. from January 1, 1980, to December 31, 2022. It originally had 89,134 rows and 38 columns but was reduced to 21 columns for analysis.
This dataset supports time-series and geo-spatial analysis, aiding the understanding of aircraft accidents and their spatial dynamics.
Describe how the research question will be answered, e.g. what approaches / methods will be used.
To examine Aircraft Crashes, with a focus on their locations, timings, and consequences, the team would like to use:
Heat-Map - An Animated Heat-map of Aircraft Crashes in the United States Over Time. (interesting)
Time-series Plot- Analysis of Aircraft Crashes and Fatalities.
Radial bar Plot - A Radial Perspective on Aircraft Crashes During Flight Phases.
Investigating the Causes of Crashes, which will be addressed by:
Bar plot - Common Causes of Aircraft Crashes.
Stacked Area Chart - Causes and Severity of Aircraft Crashes.
Assessing the Influence of Weather Conditions on Crashes, can be understood with:
Radar Plot - Analysis of Aircraft Crashes by Month and Weather Conditions.
Is there anything that is unclear from the proposal?
The proposal is detailed and clear.
Provide constructive feedback on how the team might be able to improve their project.
The project is well planned.
What aspect of this project are you most interested in and would like to see highlighted in the presentation.
Looking forward to the heat maps and how it is being made interactive with shiny app.
Provide constructive feedback on any issues with file and/or code organization.
The file and code organization is good, and there are no issues found.
