Resource linkages checker tool > 'The system is handling your request. Please wait...' #6

Related to issue #3897 and maybe to the comment by Davide Artasensi (2020/10/26):

In recent times, the LinkageChecker, which shares the same operational space of the INSPIRE Geoportal, has received massive requests and traffic. The lack of disk space is the reason why you were unable to publish your harvest. We are now solving this issue and we are also thinking about quotas and access management for those who would (ab)use the features of LinkageChecker.

handling request" since 2 hours ... linkage checker is running since 6 hours - still no result

case 1: input type "URL to INSPIRE metadata"

case 2: input type "INSPIRE metadata XML content" (exampleBundle.zip)

case 3: input type "FileIdentifier (ISO 19139)"

Dear @alitka ,

We already reduced the impact of the "disk issue" you mentioned. Also, during that period of time (ie. Dec 11th), we received a massive amount of linkage assessment requests, and usually these spikes of heavy traffic on the Geoportal could lead to overall slower performances. May I ask you to check if this issue is still present?

Thanks, Davide

Dear @dartasensi , please excuse my late response.

I tested all three case with the same metadate triple again and below you can find my results:

For what reason is there a difference in response time and linkage results between the input types? Could you explain this different behaviour please?

Thanks in advance.

Dear @dartasensi , The issue is still present. For all three input types, I get the message: The system is handling your request. Please wait... Could you please check, for what reason, the Resource linkages checker tool can't process the linkage assessment requests? Thanks in advance and kind regards.

As reported during the 67th MIG-T Meeting, the INSPIRE Geoportal is currently in a transition phase for the adoption of a fully-redesigned backend based on GeoNetwork. For this reason, we will limit the bug-fix/improvement actions on the current Geoportal to those issues having the highest impact and that can be addressed with the available resources. However, we have taken note of the potential issue in the current Geoportal and will do our best for addressing it in time for the upcoming INSPIRE Monitoring, although we cannot ensure that this will be feasible.

Dear Community,

As reported in the last 75 MIG-T meeting, the rollout of the revamped INSPIRE Geoportal based on GeoNetwork is approaching.

As part of this rollout the Classic Geoportal harvesting console - and its related tools - were dismissed on Thursday 20 July - From that date onwards all harvesting processes shall be performed using the revamped GeoNetwork console.

Excuses for any inconvenience caused.
