Cant seem to find under which license unifmu is made available?

clagms commented 10 months ago

It should be the INTO-CPS Association License @freol35241 : https://github.com/INTO-CPS-Association/into-cps-application/blob/development/LICENSE.md

I'll communicate with @clegaard to double check this.

Hi @clagms, hi @clegaard,

first of all, thanks for publishing this very promising project. Can you (of anybody else) definitely confirm (or deny) that it is published under this INTO-CPS Association license? Because this would make it GPLv3 for any party that is not a member of the INTO-CPS Association. And GPLv3 would mean you have to publish all your other source code as well, which usually is a deal-breaker for any commercial actor. We are investigating this tool in the scope of a research project for integration with our own software solution, those code we just cannot publish.

In the official paper you published, it says that the tool would be "freely available" and should (of course) be cited when used. This sounds much more unrestricted, more like CC BY or something similar.

Could anybody clear this up?

Hi Paul! I can confirm that it is published under the into cps association license, for ensuring its continued maintenance.

Are you aware that you can be a member of the association? It's relatively easy to become a member. See the conditions here: https://into-cps.org/membership

I'm happy to discuss this further!
