Continuing the conversation from https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse/issues/3727#issuecomment-289803724 have you considering adding a ISSUE_TEMPLATE.md file to this repo? As described at https://help.github.com/articles/creating-an-issue-template-for-your-repository/ the template would help guide people who are creating new issues in a GitHub repo. We're considering adding one for Dataverse.

That's a great idea @pdurbin. Do you think it would be worthwhile making this a requirement for the best practices?

Maybe. You could always try it on a project like Zelig or whatever first and see how it goes.
