Changing the rendering is complicated, making the program annoying in some situations. Working on proteins with the default rendering is impractical for instance, but changing to cartoon is not trivial. This is also an issue in demos as we end up showing only the default rendering rather than the range that is available in the program.
A solution would be to add the ability to set the rendering in the server GUI. The GUI could offer a set of presets that would be quick to switch to.
