IoT use case for consent #16

How does consent work if users only interface with the network through a device? Are there implications of IoT on "other people's infrastructure," too?

I do not plan on considering how IoT implicates others' infrastructure as I've not found a pointer to that nor an obvious entry point in the document's section on this.
