Traefik seems to be an interesting alternative to Nginx. It should be fast enough (TM) and require way less configuration (which should mean less nightmares). According to this article, it's also rapidly gaining interest/traction (NOTE: I couldn't replicate the interesting screenshot, the one showing massive growth on Traefik. No idea why).

(Sort-of) automatic discovery of services, via Docker container tags
Built-in Let'sEncrypt support! Yay!
Built-in Prometheus monitoring
Less intimidating config files
A new (hopefully sane) way to define and remove URL prefixes for different parts of the system.

If used, the following changes would be required:
[x] Edit the docker-compose.yaml to remove the Nginx image and add the Traefik image
[x] Add the necessary labels on all other containers, to allow Traefik to properly build route tables
[x] Removal of the nginx folder and its config files
[ ] Addition of a new traefik folder plus the respective Traefik config files within (traefik.toml, traefik_dynamic.toml and acme.json)
[x] Edit all backend source code, delete all references to "container-nginx" (see here for list) and replace them with references to "container-traefik"... or maybe directly reference the necessary containers?
