Pull request test and fix for #7 #8

As my first tiny contribution to the core code, here's a patch which I've tried to do by the book. Even so it's slightly messy, because the first commit is undone by the final 2. Despite the 6 commits Git is telling me "4 files changed" which looks right to me. This should fix the new bug I just opened.

What do you think?
