Amy Ni’s blender branch. I think this can be merged in without conflict.

David – That’s great. I haven’t looked, but I’m hoping that at some point we can manipulate individual objects from the exported scenes in iset, so that we can use them for computational imaging experiments.

Separately, I’ve been running the Matlab 2021a pre-release, and it seems to work fine for isetcam and the pieces of iset3D I’ve used. Haven’t tried any new functionality, just wanted to make sure they didn’t break anything. Performance seems pretty similar overall, at least judging by running & timing v_ISET. – David

Are there Blender test scenes we should be using for validation? I see the blender/BlenderScene, but that is the PBRT output. Maybe we should we have the Blender file itself that gets converted to the PBRT?

Sure thing! I've enclosed the blender file that is used in the blender tutorial. If you download and enable the blender-to-pbrt exporter ( https://github.com/ISET/iset3d/wiki/Blender-install-exporter), you can export the enclosed file as is ( https://github.com/ISET/iset3d/wiki/Blender-export-scene). Then you can follow the iset3d blender tutorial to render the exported scene in iset3d. Let me know if anyone has any questions about this or runs into any problems!

Best, Amy
