Monitor Spectrum number limited to 0 -100 #2056

Closed kjwoodsISIS closed 7 years ago

kjwoodsISIS commented 7 years ago

As a scientist, the DAE GUI (Experiment Setup/Data Acquisition tab) currently restricts me to using Monitor Spectrum numbers in the range 0-100. I need to be able to use higher numbers (e.g. 1537 on ALF).

Acceptance Criteria

  1. I can enter any valid monitor spectrum value.

Notes

  1. What are the valid monitor spectrum limits?

The ALF monitor is spectrum number 1537, but when setting up the DAE in IBEX
(client v.3.1.0.42, server 3.1.0.46dd4e1) in DAE -> Experiment setup -> Data
Acquisition I can only specify 1-100 for the monitor spectrum (presumably for
logging / monitor counts display etc).

Hi,
As a quick workaround, are you able to set it via the genie python change_monitor() command ?

Freddie

Hi Freddie,

I can issue that command, and no error is thrown. Also if I change the time window then that
change is propagated into the GUI. But the spectrum number shown in the GUI is still the
maximum value (100) even when I set it to 1537 in the script. So now I don’t know which is
correct… Is there any way of finding out what is actually going on, or would I need neutrons
for that?
