HRPD: robotic sample changer #4749

HRPD may be getting a robotic sample changer - this project is "in the works" (but has been in the works for some time, so we should not necessarily expect it soon).

The code running the remote end of this sample changer is at \\isis\shares\ISIS_Experimental_Controls\external_code\HRPD robotic sample changer code

It has been in the works for a while, it has now actually made it onto the main projects list (848 if anyone is interested), it is now getting the design division involved – at least to some extent I believe this is not going through motion control, current estimations for handing that project over to experiment operations is July 2020, who currently have an end date of January 2021 listed. A provisional design review date has been set, but I am not aware of anyone from the group attending. However, there have been various discussions (myself and others) and the remote developer is aware of our preferences, and why, when it comes to control.
