Reported by scientist to ISIS exp controls:

... on the 2D detector life view, every other second (arbitrary measure of time but regularly) there is a tube either on the top or in the bottom (it is always the same two tubes) that seem to have a much higher intensity. When we look into the data with Mantid we don’t see anything suspicious. In addition, the monitors seem to be disconnected, and again when we examine them through Mantid we can observe the electronic noise.

Monitor not being connected was resolved by restarting the ISISDAE ioc (I think it's CAS thread may have died, static pvs were still available but dynamic pvs were not)
