IMAT: USB load cell #5860

IMAT have an experiment mid november using a load cell https://www.loadcellshop.co.uk/load-cells/usb-load-cell Manuals are in the usual place in the Mantracourt-dscusb directory. The company provide DLL drivers

There is a virtual COM port that takes ASCII commands, but it may not be possible to use that at the same time as the vendor GUI, so dscusbdrv-dll may be a better bet. They just need to read a single value back.

Can we use sdtest for this. Does this need to go directly into ready. Mid november is 2 weeks away

I suspect the virtual serial port is single user hence I have asked them to query dscusbdrv-dll with the vendor and also if they need to have the vendor GUI running at the same time. If they just want a single number without the vendor GUI running then we may be able to use sdtest (which can also load a simple stream device protocol file if the format looks a little complicated). I'll wait for their reply, they can run without an IOC.
