Should we define "Scientific Data" #12

In a ISIS Data Vision document I am reading now (23rd June 2021), it refers to scientific data for example "The operation of ISIS can, and in many cases already does, generate a lot of data that can then be used to give context to the scientific data (e.g., providing automated meta data) and for diagnostic purposes".

The data vision described in this document primarily covers the non-scientific data; although in many areas this data is closely linked to, and necessary for the interpretation of, scientific data"

Should this term be defined in the ISIS Data Policy?

Related, the ISIS data policy does not currently define the term scientific data (although perhaps defined elsewhere). Broadly speaking in the "ISIS Data Vision" Scientific data seems to to mean: data that users collect to study scientific samples on beamlines and derivatives from such data?

If Scientific data is a term that is used in ISIS documents, it seems relevant that it is also used in the ISIS Data Policy?

More than 2 years old since seen activity. Can be reopened later if this question comes up again
