Retrieve spinner/progress does not show in GUI #38

the spinner for retrieving data does not show anymore. investigate.

@odeimaiz : I think this is a frontend problem. The spinner works correctly if you link actively the output of a precedent node to the input. when clicking the retrieve button, the spinner things do not get activated cause it goes down a different path in the code I think
