directov0: the validation is done in the catalog. This entrypoint IS and MUST BE only used by the catalog!! #6725

          Actually the dv-0 was validating a long time ago. when we moved to the catalog and pydantic this was removed for whatever reason.

You are right that this should be enhanced, and probably needs an issue. But this goes beyond this PR.
