Is there any technical reason why support could not be extended back to Windows 7? Obviously I understand W7 has been ended and therefore it's not arguably reasonable to expect technical support for users running on such OS, but from purely a 'will-it-work' perspective, is there a software technical issue preventing its use on W7? I wasn't aware that Windows 8 was really that far removed from Windows 7 under the bonnet. Certainly there was a bit of chintzy tinsel and trappings which no one liked, to make it look all new and shiny, but under the bonnet it was still essentially Windows 7 (just made more crap).
