Status & how to become a beta tester? #3

Awesome idea.

I would love to give this a try on one of my printers for more consistent z offsets. How do i become a beta tester?

I currently paused the work on this project. There are some issues that affect the reliability which can’t be easily fixed. While this works fine for demos etc. it’s still not reliable enough for daily use. Another issue is that I reached the limit of what I can do with just macros. Unfortunately I can’t code python so this is no option atm. If you want to try it anyways you can use the default Voron endstop, connect a wire to the pin or pulley, tighten the grub screw to secure the pin and use this as a endstop. This will function the same like my custom endstop just with a smaller probe surface.

thank you for answering! if this project is somewhat dead now: do you mind sharing the geometry files so if anyone wants to pick it up that would probably be helpful. maybe if you share the problems over via discord you can get some more people thinking about the reliability and maybe even helping regarding the code. would love to see this growing as it is an awesome idea.

@Ibot-11, cool project you have here. I wanted to ask if you would continue it if someone would support you with developing the python parts you need? Maybe this is something i could do. Ofc this only makes sense if you could eliminate the reliability issues. let me know :)

Sorry for my late response! I totally missed this message. Currently I don’t have any idea how I could fix this easily. ATM I am waiting for Carto Survey. If this works like a loadcell probe (no Z-offset) I don’t think it makes sense to put an enormous amount of work into this.
