SBS player doesn't work on Apple TV XBMC #7

I am trying to view SBS Catchup on Apple TV XBMC 10.4. (exact details in 
attached log file). 

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Start XBMC
2. Select SBS Catchup TV add-on. The initial menu levels (Default Play List, 
FIFA, Ashes, TDF, Dakar etc.) loads. 
3. When selecting any item in initial menu (e.g. Default Play List) get generic 
addon.py error.  

This does work on similar version XBMC on Windows 7.  

Looking at the xbmc.log on the AppleTV it indicates it can't open  
http://player.sbs.com.au/video/menu/index/standalone/137, which I believe is 
the SBS program list. Using wget on the AppleTV I can get this file, so doesn't 
seem to be an permission/access issue. 

FYI ABC iView and 7up work, the channel 10 catchup doesn't.

I am also having this issue on XBMC installed on Ubuntu Linux so it appears 
that this isn't just an issue with AppleTV

Hi there,

I too am experiencing the same error, yet can watch Channel 7 and ABC iView. 
Has anyone kindly worked this fix out? Not sure what to do from here. Would 
love some assistance.

I received a pm as follows but dont have the knowledge as to how to do this on 
the Mac or ATV 2.

"not sure if its the same issue, but i fixed a problem with windows 7 XBMC and 
SBS player addon.py error by editing a file in 
C:\Users\useraccount\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\addons\plugin.video.catchuptv.au.sbs\r
esources\lib\playlist.py

I replaced on line 50,51 "encode('iso-8859-1'))," with "encode('cp1252'))," .

Does anyone have any idea how the plugin may be updated with the above 
suggestion?

You may need to upgade...Try this link

You may also benefit by doing as I did and do a complete upgrade of the
ATV2 software. It means re-jail breaking and going through all the polava
again, but is now mostly all working.
