Hi Everybody,

our environment:

Oracle EL 6.5 Linux admincons 3.8.13-44.el6uek.x86_64 #2 SMP Fri Aug 8 21:59:01 PDT 2014 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Packets:

icinga2-2.1.0-1.el6.x86_64 icinga2-bin-2.1.0-1.el6.x86_64 icinga2-classicui-config-2.1.0-1.el6.x86_64 icinga2-common-2.1.0-1.el6.x86_64 icinga2-ido-mysql-2.1.0-1.el6.x86_64 icinga-doc-1.11.7-0.snapshot201409070757.el6.x86_64 icinga-gui-1.11.6-0.el6.x86_64 icinga-web-1.11.2-1.el6.noarch icinga-web-module-pnp-1.11.2-1.el6.noarch icinga-web-mysql-1.11.2-1.el6.noarch python-icinga2-2.1.0-1.el6.x86_64

Hosts in Icinga: ca. 130 Services in Icinga: ca. 2700 (see Screenshot "icinga-ok.png")

Everything is fine, till we need to restart the icinga2 Process:

  1. /etc/init.d/icinga2 restart Checking configuration: Done Stopping Icinga 2: .Done Starting Icinga 2: Done

Then the tac.cgi brings internal error and makes core dump with segmentation vault (signal 11) - s. attachement "icinga2-crash.tar.gz"

Everything seems to work fine except Tactital Overview (s. icinga-errror.png). Icinga-Web seems to work fine after the restart (s. icinga-web.png)

I've already changed the hardware to exclude the hardware problems - still the same.

I've tried the last stable versions (1.11.5 and 1.11.6) and development (1.11.7) - no changes.

The only way that I've found to get the functional system again is to come back to the initical icinga2 config with only 1 host (localhost) and then restart icinga2 (s. recovery.png). Then I have to restore my last configuration and restart again (s. recovery2.png) - but it's only a very bad workaround and no solution...

I would appreciate any help.

The file with dump should be named "tac-crash.tar.gz" and not "icinga2-crash.tar.gz", sorry!

OK, I've worked it out.

It has something to do with the warnings in icinga2.log "warning/Checkable: Too many nested dependencies for service 'xxxxxxx': Dependency failed."

Eliminated all dependencies - works fine after restart.
