fix #80

HOSTED-POWER commented 2 years ago

Hi, I did a first time install of cube together with icingadb, however I don't have any dimensions to add. It seems rather empty in the gui. cube-empty

nilmerg commented 2 years ago

Hi, this is due to a bug in Icinga DB Web that got just recently fixed. With the master of Icinga DB Web you should see the dimensions.

HOSTED-POWER commented 2 years ago

Ok I managed to fix it, not so easy, a lot has changed and many repo's seem not 100% compatible atm :)

I had hoped to quickly identify old OS, but it can only see the OS when it's written in an variable somehow? Which isn't the default I assume.

nilmerg commented 2 years ago

Ehrm, no. This is based on custom variables after all

HOSTED-POWER commented 2 years ago

Indeed, I see now exactly how it functions , but the readme / introduction was a bit misleading. I had hoped it would work for default variables as well, and maybe the OS was somewhere hidden there :)

In any case it's nice to quickly filter stuff, but I have the feeling I would like to filter directly on services types etc. Is there a reason it are only custom variables? How can we filter for example in a way that we see all services that start with disk- for example. So a filter on the service name with a wildcard.

Custom variables were just the first choice. Feel free to open a feature request for more filter capabilities.
