As pointed out by tgelf the support for nested groups is not yet on the roadmap of Director. I'd like to raise awareness for this feature.

I experience this and would love to have this as well. +1 There is a definite need to have "Hadoop NameNodes" by cluster name, then an "all namenodes" group here.
