python 3.5 really required?

python 3.5 really required? #104

Trying to compile at university it won't make tools because python is 3.4

I thought python was required only for the egs and pyIdlak. Surely 3.4 is okay? It would be really hard for me to install 3.5 with no admin privilidges on DICE.
