Can't get a configuration file from the documentation page #811

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

Hi,
I am trying to set up latest version of analytics in my app. The issue is I am
not able to get a configuration file after clicking the respective button in
the documentation page. The page just keeps on loading and loading and never
launches anything.

How do I get a configuration file to setup analytics?

I have tried using multiple browsers (Firefox, and Chrome), and on multiple
machines. I am blocked without being able to generate this file.

I'm having the same exact issue. I already have a configuration file from a
test app. Can I modify the existing file I already have to fit what I need?
What fields would need to be changed?

Same for me. When I visit this link:

this error shows up in Safari's error console:

Looks like it happens in Chrome OS X too:

Refused to display
'https://accounts.google.com/ServiceLogin?service=cloudconsole&osid=1&passiv…3
Dtrue%26cntlbl%3DContinue%2BAdding%2BAnalytics%26cntapi%3Danalytics&hl=en' in a
frame because it set 'X-Frame-Options' to 'DENY'.
Failed to execute 'postMessage' on 'DOMWindow': The target origin provided
('https://console.developers.google.com') does not match the recipient window's
origin ('null').

Please Google look into this! It's standing in the way of everyone using your
analytics! Thanks!

Me too. I tried Chrome, Firefox and Safari on OS X 10.10.5. In all three
browsers, the configuration file page just hangs with the spinner, like it's
stuck on loading.

This is a complete blocker for me. I can't use GA without that file.

Hey guys. I posted a question on Stackoverflow. I received answers and it
worked for me.

Here is the solution:
1. Go to Google Developer console -
https://console.developers.google.com/project
2. Login to Google Developer Console.
3. Create a new project.
4. Go to enable and manage APIs.
5. Search for Google Cloud Messaging for Android.
6. Enable GCM.
7. Now go to this link to get configuration file.
https://developers.google.com/cloud-messaging/android/client

Below is the link of Stackoverflow question:

@kahtrini

Thanks for the advice. I realized I neglected to add that I was developing for
iOS. I did not see a similar cloud messaging option for iOS.

Hopefully your tip can help people on the Android front.

Same issue for iOS - I got it to work by:
Staying on the page, I signed-out. I was immediately prompted to sign-in again
and then the page loaded.

Hey guys, I am facing the same issue while integrating analytics for iOS, there
seems to be a sloppy response towards maintaining something that should be
seamless. Did you guys manage to find any workaround?

Guys, I tried with the steps mentioned at #9 and it is working if we exactly
follow the steps there. Surely, needs more documentation to prevent some
headaches.
