Why do you think this is a bug? On the contrary for devices with limitted FOV I think it's quite interesting to be able to see a bit of the side windows when opening them even if that implies reducing the separation.

I see the advantages of reducing the separation between windows for such devices, but not to the point this distance is 0.
I think that it looks a bit strange because the two 3D windows are trying to paint themselves in the same place.
One thing that we could try is increase a little bit the Z distance of the windows that are not focused, so that overlap goes away. That would also make it possible to allow the windows to move closer to the user.

Steps to Reproduce
Current Behavior
The new window is places immediately beside the one in the center, with no gap that provides a visual separation between both.
Expected Behavior
There should be a minimal gap, providing a visual separation between the different windows.
