Support for WebXR Augmented Reality Module #242

I'm wondering if there is any hidden developer option for enabling experimental support of the WebXR Augmented Reality Module. I ask in the hope that Mozilla had been working on it and that it might be enabled through a setting change like how Chromium can enable it through the chrome://flags page.

I know the module spec isn't even final and you guys have bigger priorities after the handoff but it's unclear where else this could be asked. Presumably support for the Augmented Reality Module will be on the radar for when Wolvic is more settled and W3C has finalized the module.

Thanks for all you do to keep this browser going!

I am not aware of any AR work from Mozilla, at least there is nothing in the repo.

AR is definitely in our radar, but not in the short-medium term.

And thanks for using Wolvic!

FYI: The Oculus Browser just enabled AR passthrough (no hit testing) a couple weeks ago. It's pretty amazing. Would love to see this considered as more than a long-term wish-list item.

I'll reopen this because we are not likely going to have this support using Gecko, but it'll be available with the Chromium backend we are planning for next year

我将重新打开它,因为我们不太可能使用 Gecko 获得这种支持,但它将在我们计划明年推出的 Chromium 后端中提供

oh,Is there an implementation open source of openxr supporting Android platform Chromium?

I write here to "bump" this issue, because we have several research projects that can benefit from this feature. Meta already has a decent support for Passthrough-based AR experiences in their Quest browser... but I would certainly prefer using Wolvic to implement our projects and promote it in our papers.

Would love to see this! On pico the native brower doesn't suppor handtracking but does support AR. Wolvic supports handtracking but doesn't support AR. Having both would be great.

It's in our roadmap for this year. Note that this will eventually come for the Chromium version only as Gecko does not have support for the AR module.

Great! Thank you.
