not able to install plugins and execute File|Root Window #755

Here's my settings

No matter what changes I make they are not registered in /etc/spacefm/spacefm.conf

I tried the following suggestions here but still setting root_editor-s=vi %f in /etc/spacefm/spacefm.conf gives me an error about invalid characters.

Executing spacefm from terminal I get the message

Indicating that this might be the error not allowing me to install any plugins.

I have the same problem. When I select File > Root Window, it ask me a password and then just doesn't nothing.
