Double clicking on an archive invokes an "extract here" #83

Double clicking on a text file opens that file in the editor. When double clicking on an archive one would expect that archive to be opened in an Archive Manager or the like. Instead an immediate "extract here" is invoked. In my opinion that immediate action is dangerous as this might overwrite files changed after the archive was created. None of the File Managers I am aware of show this dangerous behavior. Please see also http://forums.partedmagic.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2571. Regards, Dick

There is no danger as it always creates a new folder for the extraction.

If you prefer to use an app to open archives by default, right-click on an archive and select Open|Archive Default|Open With App.
